Kinetik Wellbeing and the Heart Foundation are partnering to fight against high blood pressure in New Zealand

My Blood Pressure New Zealand, The Heart Foundation, Hypertension, Free Blood Pressure Tracking,

One in five New Zealanders have high blood pressure (hypertension) with many of these people unaware they have it. One reason being that hypertension invariably has no symptoms. This is significant as almost one in three deaths in New Zealand are caused by cardiovascular disease — hypertension being a major risk factor.

That’s why Kinetik Wellbeing and the Heart Foundation are proud to partner on this year’s blood pressure awareness campaign KnowYourNumbersNZ, from the 26th of February to the 3rd of March.

Working together with Unichem and Life Pharmacy across New Zealand, they hope to help thousands more New Zealanders understand the importance of knowing and managing their blood pressure.

At 40 Unichem and Life Pharmacy stores nationwide, Heart Foundation staff – Heart Health Advocates – will be doing blood pressure checks along with pharmacists.

As well as working together to raise awareness, after the successful launch of My Blood Pressure in the UK, Kinetik Wellbeing are excited to announce they’re extending My Blood Pressure to New Zealand.

Kinetik Wellbeing are proudly launching My Blood Pressure in partnership with the Heart Foundation, New Zealand’s heart charity leading the fight against the country’s single biggest killer – heart disease.

Kinetik Wellbeing and the Heart Foundation share a commitment to making a major impact in reducing deaths from heart disease and stroke associated with high blood pressure. With Kinetik Wellbeing’s expertise as a leading provider of home medical devices, and with the support of the Heart Foundation, they have created My Blood Pressure – a personal blood pressure companion.

My Blood Pressure offers easy-to-use tools to track, analyse and gain valuable insight into an individual’s blood pressure, as well as personalised advice to equip users with an increased understanding of what the readings mean.

Within My Blood Pressure, the Heart Hub provides engaging and informative content from experts within their respective fields. This provides users with the knowledge to act towards achieving healthier blood pressure levels, and includes heart-healthy recipes that the whole family will enjoy.

Through this partnership with the Heart Foundation, we hope to expand our mission of empowering health at home so that even more people can lead longer, healthier lives.”

Dr Gerry Devlin, Heart Foundation Medical Director, said:

“We’re pleased to be partnering with Kinetik Wellbeing to raise awareness of the importance of New Zealanders knowing and managing their blood pressure. High blood pressure is the number one risk factor for heart disease and stroke. This partnership helps support the Heart Foundation’s mission to stop all people in New Zealand dying prematurely from heart disease and enable people with heart disease to live full lives.”
